You must be either a U.S. citizen or a U.S. lawful permanent resident in order to be eligible for this fellowship.

I am a U.S. lawful permanent resident.

I understand that as a lawful permanent resident, I must submit a current, permanent (10-year), and non-expired copy of my LPR card as part of my application. An I-551 stamp or letter will not suffice as proof of residency.

You must be enrolled at an accredited U.S. university and pursuing your Ph.D. by fall 2027.

I understand that I must be enrolled in or entering full-time, uninterrupted study toward a Ph.D. by the start of fellowship in fall 2027.

You must be enrolled in a department by fall of 2027 that certifies that either:

1) No more than one term of teaching, grading, or other departmental support activities are required of students in the applicant's department.

2) If there are requirements to teach, grade or provide other departmental support for more than one term, they will be waived for the DOE CSGF fellow.

I understand that upon an official offer of a DOE CSGF award, I will be required to have my department chair/head sign a provided document certifying compliance with the above requirement.
